Business Development
Evan Iskenderian
I am currently a Junior at Middlebury College where I am majoring in economics with a minor in environmental studies.
My love for the environment was something instilled in me as a child as I grew up in small mountain towns in Colorado and Montana. Being able to explore the outdoors and connect with nature in different ways was something that helped me understand the value of our environment early on. By the time I was a Junior in High School I began writing articles in the local paper about the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem hoping to gain more knowledge of my local environment and the challenges it faces.
By the time I got to College my eagerness to learn about sustainability emerged as I found in interest in economics. As a member of the Middlebury Consulting Club and Research and Investment in Sustainable Equity Group (RISE), I have been able to work on several projects that intersect sustainability and economics. As I finish my final two years at Middlebury, I am eager to learn more about the sustainable energy sector and how the world can continue its transition into renewable energy sources.
Regarding my professional experience, my interest in startup culture began during my internship with Farm-ng. During this internship I worked on market research and analysis projects as the company prepared to raise their series A. This experience allowed me to engaged with upper management as well as investors and ignited an interest in how early-stage startups operate and their process in growing effectively.
You can most likely find me skiing, running, or playing sports. I also recently started surfing after studying abroad in Australia.
